We’re looking for a lead engineer who can guide technical decisions, support the team, and help us build systems that are dependable and easy to work with. You’ll be hands-on with code, but also involved in planning, mentoring, and helping the team stay aligned. Responsibilities Lead the development of backend systems and frontend applications, making sure they’re secure, scalable, and maintainable. Set direction for architecture, coding standards, and development practices, and help the team understand why those choices matter. Work with product managers, designers, and other teams to plan and deliver features that are useful and well thought out. Support engineers through mentoring, code reviews, and technical guidance, and help them grow in their roles. Improve how we deploy, monitor, and maintain our systems, and help identify areas where we can work more efficiently. Encourage open discussion, help the team make thoughtful decisions, and make sure everyone understands the trade-offs involved. Stay informed about new tools and approaches, and share what you learn with the team. We work together to keep things practical, avoid unnecessary complexity, and focus on building tools that solve real problems. We support each other through challenges, share what we learn, and take pride in doing good work together. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering complex projects. Expertise in Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and RESTful APIs. Familiarity with secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP). Experience with frontend development using ReactJS and related technologies such as JavaScript and TypeScript. Strong understanding of Git workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Gradle and managing multi-module projects. We value engineers who lead by example, explain their thinking clearly, and help others do their best work. Desired Skills & Experience Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS. Ability to plan technical work and guide long-term decisions. Experience leading cross-functional projects and improving team processes. Exposure to DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code tools, and scalable architecture design.
