Job Title Cloud Ops Engineer (Observability) About your Role: As a Cloud Operations Engineer with a focus on observability, you will play a key part in maintaining and improving the reliability, performance, and visibility of our cloud environment. This role centers on operational support, troubleshooting, monitoring, and enhancing telemetry, not building new cloud platforms. You will partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to ensure that Azure and AWS workloads are fully monitored, compliant, and operationally healthy using tools such as Azure Monitor, Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudWatch, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Dynatrace, and Splunk. What You’ll Do Support day‑to‑day operations of existing cloud services, including troubleshooting issues related to networking, IAM, performance, and service health, primarily in Azure and AWS, likely extending to Google Cloud later. Strengthen observability by improving metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting across applications and cloud services. Maintain and refine monitoring standards using Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and Splunk. Apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to cloud operations challenges like rapid incident response and mitigation, change impact analysis, anomaly detection and correlation, and more. Review and enhance operational runbooks, documentation, and incident response processes. Work closely with teams to ensure workloads meet security, audit logging, and compliance requirements. Identify monitoring gaps and implement improvements to enhance operational visibility and reliability. Experience you’ll need to have: 7+ years of experience in cloud operations, systems engineering, or distributed systems troubleshooting. 3+ years of hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft Azure, especially Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Entra ID, and Azure Networking. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), especially CloudWatch. Experience with observability tools such as Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar platforms. Strong troubleshooting skills in cloud environments, including logs, metrics, performance, and connectivity. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform) for operational updates. Solid understanding of core networking and infrastructure concepts (DNS, HTTP/S, routing, load balancing). Experience that would be great to have: Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Experience with containers or Kubernetes monitoring. Azure, AWS, or observability‑related certifications. Google Cloud experience Familiarity with SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, postmortems, incident lifecycle). This role requires the use of a computer and audio equipment. #LI-CD1 Salary Range $110,000.00 - $186,000.00 These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York.
