The Department of Astronomy and Physics is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Boltzmann and quantum Boltzmann equations, as well as stimulated Brillouin and Raman scattering. Your expertise will used in studying excimer lasers for laser inertial fusion energy. If you are ready to contribute to our research and work with our team, we encourage you to apply! Opportunities to Contribute Conduct theoretical research in quantum optics. Possess knowledge of the Boltzmann and quantum Boltzmann equations, and stimulated Brillouin and Raman scattering. Study excimer lasers for laser inertial fusion energy. Contribute to IQSE projects on quantum heat engines, quantum gravity, and entanglement. Write scientific papers, present at conferences, and prepare presentations. Supervise, train, and mentor graduate students. Assist with hosting Institute visitors and supporting IQSE-sponsored activities. Qualifications PhD in Physics, optics, or photonics. Applicants should have a proven record of research in the corresponding area and strong publications. Excellent scientific writing ability and good communication skills are essential. A well-qualified candidate will also possess Expertise with nonlinear optics, plasma physics, and ultrafast lasers. Knowledge of scientific programming language(s) and computer simulation. Salary : Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience. Special Note : This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract.
