Job Description: About the Unit: The 5 South Observation Unit will function in support of both our Emergency Department and telemetry units by allowing us to observe low acuity patients to determine if inpatient status is needed. Job Duties: The Charge Nurse acts as a shift supervisor and is a key member of the management team.   The Charge Nurse provides leadership to staff members and serves as a clinical resource.   Additionally, the Charge Nurse communicates and rounds on patients and family members to ensure a high level of patient care and safety.   The Charge Nurse is an extension of the Nurse Manager and will work collaboratively to address operational needs such as scheduling, staff development, and clinical competence.    Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required: Active Kentucky RN license A minimum of two years acute care hospital experience required.
