About the Role We are hiring a Data Engineer (G6) to design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines that enable business insights across Gap Inc.’s global operations. This role is hands-on, focused on developing scalable data solutions, supporting analytics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex data problems, working with modern cloud platforms, and contributing to a growing data engineering ecosystem. What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to integrate data from multiple business applications.  Collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and business teams to understand and fulfill data requirements.  Implement best practices in coding, testing, and automation.  Support data quality, governance, and access control initiatives.  Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.  Assist in monitoring pipeline performance and resolving data issues.  Recommend improvements to data processes and platform capabilities.  Who You Are 4–7 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles.  Hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms:  Azure: Databricks, PySpark, Data Lake, ADF  Or equivalent GCP stack: BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, etc.  Proficiency in Python, Linux scripting, and building scalable data pipelines.  Familiarity with relational/non-relational databases, data streams, and file stores.  Experience with version control and CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins).  Graduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent.  Good-to-Have Skills  Experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, MicroStrategy).  Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and data governance.  Exposure to DevOps practices, monitoring, and observability.  Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional teams.
