Summary Job Description: Job Description   Unit Description:   5F is the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) primarily serving as an Observation Unit with 29 telemetry beds. Primary patient population is cardiac, medicine, and pre and post cardiac procedures. Patients are predominantly placed from the ED , Cath Lab, and Direct Admissions that meet CDU criteria.   Shift:   Full-time, Nights   Job Description:   The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.   S/ he honors patients’ mind, body and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual .   Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.   Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity.   Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines.   R is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.   As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.   Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:   Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.   Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.   Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.   Basic life support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.   ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.   Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental and Pet Insurance.   Life Insurance.   Short Term and Long Term Disability and Life Insurance.   Identity Theft Protection.   Tuition Reimbursement up to $6,000 annually.   Company paid Maternity and Paternity Leave.   5 days of Paid Time Off available upon hire.   Bereavement Leave (includes pets).   PTO Sell Back Program.   Compassionate Leave Sharing Program (PTO Donation)  .   Employee Support Fund, for employees in need of emergency financial support.   Retirement with Company Match.   Work Experience Education If you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply now!
