Summary Job Description: Job Description Registered Nurse (RN) :   Post operative surgical acute care, telemetry unit | $15,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualifying candidates Unit Overview: 5G/H is a 42 bed telemetry unit specializing in complex patients with multiple co-morbidities, palliative care, colorectal surgeries with progressive ERAS protocols, and MDRO patients. The patient population is transferred from ICU, ED and PACU. Shift : Full-time, Nights Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. The Registered Nurse is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness. As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc. Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required: Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky. Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university. Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years. Basic life support ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
