Summary Job Description: Seeking Registered Nurse! Baptist Health Floyd, Emergency Department Observation Unit PRN (Work as Needed), Shift Varies Every 4th Weekend Requirement Job Duties: In this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. About the Unit: The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours.  Nurses in this unit care for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care. New Graduate RNs welcome. Qualifications: Current Indiana or compact state RN license required. BLS for healthcare provider required. ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire). Minimum of one (1) year of previous nursing experience required to hold a PRN position.
