Job Description: The SME, Data Engineeting an integral part of a newly established Data team and will be responsible for leading a team of data SME’s for Conducting POC, continuous improvement of data platform and finding new solutions. Primarily the purpose of this role will be to act as a single orchestrator of all engineering activity and overall custodian of the Data technologies across Asia. Roles & Responsibilities Own and aggressively drive forward Solutions for Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data virtualization & Integration on Cloud and On-premises. Develop foundation for laying out non-functional qualities in the platform including resiliency, scalability, security, and lineage. Drive excellence and ensure continuous improvement in quality of deliverables. Conduct POC in time bound manner for new business problem statements. Analyze, define, design and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, and operating system environment. Advise on the available standards, methods, tools and applications relevant to Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Science and can make correct choices from alternatives. Design and code solutions on and off databases for ensuring application access to enable data driven decisions. Work with Business consumers and IT teams to enable data services for integrating upstream and downstream applications. Oversight and accountability for platform monitoring and issue management. Accountable for service performance and data quality Requirements Practical experience of 8+ year developing data solutions. Strong understanding & experience of AWS core data services and data service design patterns, or a proven desire and ability to learn AWS services (core accountability of the role). Strong understanding of implementing multiple Data Programs viz. Data Lakehouse , Data Warehouse, Advanced Analytics , Master Data Management, Data Modelling, Analytics and Virtualization. Possess a combination of solid business knowledge and technical expertise with strong communication skills. Proven experience to work under high pressure environment and supporting/managing multiple teams. Skilled to lay out correct implementation strategy of various data programs as per business needs. Demonstrate excellent analytical and logical thinking. Good verbal & written communication skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment providing structure in ambiguous situation. Good to have. Understanding of Insurance Domain Good understanding of Master Data Management and Data Governance. Good understanding of implementing & architecting data solutions using the AWS components.
