We are looking for an Air Force Global Strike Command Liaison Officer (Senior Project Leader - Nuclear and Systems Engineering) , to serve as senior technical authority, consultant, primary investigator, and team leader/liaison between NNSA and Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC).  This position routinely interfaces with Executive and Flag Officer leaders both in the Departments of the Air Force and Energy / NNSA to support integration of NNSA nuclear weapon modernization programs with Air Force delivery systems to include Sentinel, Long Range Standoff cruise missile, legacy Minuteman III ICBM, bombs, Air Launched Cruise Missile, B-52, B-2, and B-21.  This position requires deep understanding of both AFGSC leadership and command structure and NNSA leadership, structure, roles and responsibilities.  This is the single NNSA-funded position at AFGSC.  The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at AFGSC located on Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, LA What You’ll Be Doing As NNSA Liaison embedded within Headquarters AFGSC, provide key communications between NNSA and AFGSC on nuclear modernization programs  Provide communication conduits between AFGSC and NNSA organizations, including NNSA NA-11 (Office of Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation), NA-12 (Office of Stockpile Management), and NA-18 (Office of Systems Engineering and Integration)  Provide regular updates to NNSA leadership on issues/concerns that require attention or support  Collaborate with other Aerospace liaisons to provide a cohesive and integrated message to NNSA Leadership  Be physically located with AFGSC to support integration / communication in areas such as systems architecture analyses, technology development planning and evaluation, organizational effectiveness studies, and risk assessments  Present timely technical support to AFGSC leadership to assist with weapon system requirements associated with warhead surveillance, Next Generation Reentry Capability, interface, and integration  Be responsible for tracking evolving AFGSC nuclear system requirements with a historical knowledge of legacy as well as planned future payloads, focusing on nuclear warhead interactions  Work collaboratively with program development and program execution staff to fully demonstrate the Aerospace Corporation's technical capabilities in all relevant areas to best assist the NNSA  Support the NNSA Defense Programs, through system engineering and integration (SE&I) expertise  Interact directly with the Office of Systems Engineering and Integration (NA-18), NNSA Stockpile and Life Extension Program offices (NA-12), Office of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (NA-11), NNSA design agencies, and NNSA production agencies  Support studies on options that are being preserved for new and emerging payload interfaces  May participate in new business and / or technical planning efforts.  May bring in tasks and projects beyond personal activities from internal and external sources.  What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Leader - Nuclear and Systems Engineering Minimum Requirements: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering, science, or a related field of study or equivalent experience in technical operations and / or management of advanced technology national security systems At least 10 years of increasingly responsible professional engineering / scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and / or program management environments   Exhibit exceptionally high level of innovation, creativeness, and initiative  Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills  Ability to work in a self-motivated and self-directed manner   Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers to include Executive and Flag Officer level leaders  Widely recognized internally and externally by peers, management, program office, Air Force, and contractors  Understanding and knowledge of AFGSC Nuclear Weapons Programs to include the Air leg and ICBM leg of the nuclear triad  Understanding of NNSA Weapons Programs and Phase Process and the NNSA labs, plants, and sites   Willing to travel to NNSA, AFGSC, Aerospace Corporation, and other locations approximately 1 week per month as mission requirements dictate.  This position requires a current and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI or DOE Q security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
