Job Description: Salary: From £36,121 Grade: A Location: Prestwick, Ayrshire Hours: 37 hours per week (half-day Friday) Type: Full-time (variable shifts) Travel Required: Occasional Work Location: Site-based (100%) Join One of Ayrshire’s largest Engineering Employers Prestwick Aerosystems is proud to continue Ayrshire’s long-standing aircraft manufacturing tradition. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide. As part of the Airbus family, we play a key role in delivering safe, reliable and high-quality aerospace products. We are looking for Approved Operators (Skilled Fitters) to join our production teams and support the manufacture of aircraft wing structures through hands-on, practical work. You will work as part of an experienced production team manufacturing aircraft wing structures and components. Using approved instructions and engineering data, you will carry out a range of manufacturing, assembly, sealing and finishing activities. How you will contribute to the team: Manufacture and assemble aircraft wing structure components to approved quality standards Carry out sealing, coating and finishing in line with engineering specifications Use hand tools, equipment and systems safely, including tooling checks and TPM activities Maintain a safe, clean and compliant working environment Requirements for the role: A completed apprenticeship in a relevant manual or technical trade (with papers) SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification Experience working from technical instructions, drawings, or manufacturing documentation What we will offer you: 37-hour week (half-day Friday) Defined contribution pension (4% employee / 8% employer) Shift premiums up to 33% (where applicable) Life assurance (4x basic salary) Overtime paid at time and a half 33 days annual leave (rising with service) Annual bonus linked to company performance Virtual GP service, Employee Assistance Program, and wellbeing support Professional development and training opportunities Free on-site car parking What Happens Next: If you’re ready to build a career that takes you further, apply today.
