Job Description: Role and Responsibility As the Country Leader of Government Affairs, your primary objectives are to assist in driving profitable growth of our subsidiary’s government markets segment, working towards creating conducive regulatory and policy framework conditions, raising 3M’s profile and brand with government, and advance our reputation as a respected, professional, and ethical company. You will work in a corporate role, collaborating with the regional Government Affairs team as well as 3M Korea’s various business groups, divisions, and functions. Being part of a conglomerate with a wide product portfolio, you will be working within areas such as transport, safety, infrastructure, energy & electronics, EV and more. The Leader of Government Affairs for 3M Korea has a solid reporting line to the Regional Head of Government Affairs (based in Australia) with a dual reporting line to the Managing Director of 3M Korea The job scope and associated responsibilities fall within two major areas, Government Affairs and Government Markets: Government Affairs: Provide strategic guidance and support to the Managing Director, Subsidiary Leadership team, and Regional Head of Government Affairs. Develop & execute Government Affairs strategies in support of our subsidiary’s business objective and closely align with government’s strategic priorities. Develop & lead the subsidiary’s Government engagement. Represent the company in key industry associations, business councils, and Chambers of Commerce. Create opportunities for executives and subject matter experts to provide thought leadership and engage with decision-makers. Draft comments, white papers, and other research for submissions to ministries and other governmental institutions. Monitor, anticipate, and analyze key public policy, regulatory, and legislative developments. Government Markets: With the 3M Business Groups and Divisions, provide support to: Transform market intelligence into actionable business plans and opportunity-based capture plans. Drive business development activities, identify and capture new government growth opportunities. Participate in ongoing initiatives in key areas of importance to the businesses, e.g. within Sustainability & ESG, Road Safety, Worker Safety, and Pandemic Preparedness. Qualification Relevant Master’s Degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s Degree 8 to 15 years of relevant working experience, e.g. from a corporate Public Affairs/Government Affairs role, Management Consultancy, Embassies, Government, Associations , Chambers of Commerce , etc. A combination of both public and private sector experience will be an advantage. Proven experience in working with or within Government institutions in Korea Experience from regulated industry sectors, e.g. Energy, Electronics, Transport, Infrastructure,  etc. Ability to and interest in working as part of a team in developing business strategies and plans involving government outreach and engagement. Understanding of the country’s political process and knowledge about how to research and best collaborate with Government institutions to create public value Proficiency in Microsoft Office (esp.
