Here, you will make an impact by: · Working with global Application Engineering, Product Development, Sales and Marketing personnel to develop and replicate high impact applications for consumer and industrial electronics (specifically interconnect systems markets). · Identifying the best 3M solution for an application by thoroughly understanding customer needs, testing, and trial results. Communicate results to customers and global application engineering team through written reports and presentations. · Represent the entire range of 3M portfolio for Electronics to our customers. through presentations, training, conferences and other technical interactions. · Providing launch support for new product programs by generating supporting documentation, demonstration tools, videos, and training materials. · Building a deep understanding of customer needs and competition for the electronics market and provide “Voice of Customer,” new product ideas and competitive analysis. · Specify 3M products at key OEM’s and Tiers on engineering drawings & provide support required to transition business to manufacturing locations throughout zones, regions, and subsidiaries. · Develop lab infrastructure to support business plans, plan for equipment, inputs for lab capex planning, work with engineering for procurement of equipment by providing right specifications. · Provide training to 3M Internal sales and marketing team, new joins, distributers, online training, field / shop floor training to customers for proper use of 3M solutions, preparing training calendar and training modules, feedback and other documentations etc. Devise ways to use e-tools to help the sales team to improve productivity. QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering from any reputed institution/ University with Electronics/ Polymer science/ Materials science/ Physics as the major subject. · Minimum of 5-7 years of work experience in R&D, product development, and/or applications engineering. Preferably, experience in customer-facing interactions in electronics segment. · Required experience handling various types of samples for performing tests such as tensile, mechanical shock, vibration, thermal shock, insulation and contact resistance, etc. · Experience in applications such as industrial and factory automation, machine vision, instrumentation, core cables and cables assemblies, PCBAs, SMT, wire mount connectors and cables solutions would be an advantage. · Strong technical expertise in interconnect systems – Deep understanding of connectors, cable assemblies, high-speed signal transmission, EMI/EMC fundamentals, and system-level integration across electronics, datacom, semiconductor, automation and industrial applications. · Design-in and solutions development capability – Ability to engage with OEM and Tier-1 engineering teams, interpret technical requirements, recommend suitable 3M Interconnect solutions, create validation plans, and support customers through full design-win cycle. · Hands-on application testing & troubleshooting – Proficiency in conducting product evaluations, performance testing, failure-mode analysis, and providing on-site technical support to ensure successful integration of 3M solutions into customer designs. · Independently deliver specifications wins (new or replacement from competition) through the customer value chain · Comfortable in handling testing equipment, and analytical instruments. · Good understanding about IP protocols and procedures. · Exploratory mindset and aptitude to identify new applications, new opportunities and customer pain areas and value selling. · Should be a team player, able to plan and work independently with minimum supervision. · Should be able to network effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers and should have good customer account management skills. · Strong analytical, presentation and communication skills. · Experience with creating collateral materials, such as digital content and other demonstration tools for electronics applications. · This role requires about 25-35% domestic travel.
