You will be empowered to collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, support junior colleagues through training and guidance, and contribute to the ongoing development of operational policies that align with evolving industry standards. The organisation offers a supportive environment where your knowledge of regulatory requirements and commitment to customer service excellence will be highly valued. What you will do: As a Senior Settlement Operations Specialist, you will be entrusted with responsibility in ensuring the flawless execution of settlement operations across multiple asset classes. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with various teams—both internally within the organisation and externally with market participants—to guarantee that all transactions are processed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with regulatory standards. You will play an instrumental role in mentoring junior staff members by sharing your expertise through training sessions and hands-on guidance. Additionally, you will contribute actively to policy development initiatives aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness. Your ability to coordinate projects across departments will be crucial in supporting new product rollouts or process improvements. By preparing comprehensive reports for management oversight and regulatory compliance purposes, you will help uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Ensure timely and accurate settlement operations for a wide range of derivative financial products by meticulously overseeing clearing, accounting, and reconciliation processes. Handle end-to-end settlement and clearing activities for government bonds, corporate bonds, and other fixed-income instruments while liaising effectively with counterparties, custodians, brokers, and other external parties to confirm transaction details. Review foreign exchange transactions thoroughly to ensure full compliance with both internal guidelines and statutory requirements, delivering prompt service to customers at all times. Work collaboratively with Relationship Managers and Product Offices to understand unique transaction requests specific to Treasury Back Office operations, investigating potential solutions and supporting the development of efficient transaction processing workflows. Train junior staff members by providing comprehensive onboarding, ongoing coaching, and constructive feedback to help them perform their assignments confidently and accurately. Coordinate seamlessly with internal departments as well as head office or regional offices to facilitate smooth project rollouts, new product launches, or any tasks assigned by supervisors. Prepare detailed reports for local authorities and management teams to monitor transactions and maintain operational accuracy within required timelines. Support the preparation of documentation needed for timely responses to auditors and regulators during reviews or inspections. Assist in developing and updating operational policies so they remain aligned with current regulations and best practices across the industry. Supervise daily transaction processing by verifying all documents and settlements to ensure satisfactory customer service delivery while minimising operational risk. What you will bring: To excel as a Senior Settlement Operations Specialist, you will bring extensive hands-on experience from Treasury Back Office environments where precision in settlement processes is paramount. Your background should include direct involvement in handling complex financial products such as derivatives or fixed-income securities. A recognised certification in Derivative Financial Instruments or Forex will further underscore your technical capabilities. If you have previously managed teams or coached junior staff members successfully, your leadership qualities will be highly regarded. Your approachability combined with strong communication skills ensures effective collaboration not only within your immediate team but also when engaging with external partners like brokers or custodians. You possess a keen eye for detail when reviewing transactions against regulatory frameworks—a skill that enables you to prepare thorough reports for both internal oversight bodies and external regulators alike. Your adaptability allows you to thrive amidst changing industry landscapes while always prioritising customer satisfaction through reliable service delivery. A minimum of five years’ experience working within Treasury Back Office operations or similar roles involving settlement processes for complex financial instruments. Comprehensive understanding of settlement procedures for government bonds, corporate bonds, fixed-income instruments, derivatives, and foreign exchange transactions. Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends along with relevant laws or regulations affecting settlement operations within the financial services sector. Certification in Derivative Financial Instruments or Foreign Exchange is highly desirable Previous managerial experience is ideal as it reflects your capability to coach junior staff members effectively while fostering a supportive team environment. Strong interpersonal skills and proven track record in stakeholder management—both internally across departments and externally with counterparties such as custodians or brokers Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements accurately while ensuring strict adherence to internal policies during transaction reviews or audits.
