Apply today and start building a career that matters. The Opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for an Intern to join our Technical Quality Assurance team. This team oversees the quality aspects of new product introductions and on market product changes including product development, design control, product integrity, sterilization, clinical support and hardware/software validation activities. During your placement, you will: • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative products • Support the design transfer process for new products, including validation of systems and equipment • Work with multiple departments to solve real-world challenges in product development • Monitor and maintain design control and validation status of site products • Assist with Risk Management plans, including design risk analysis and FMEA • Act as a QA representative, providing guidance and solutions for timely, cost-effective projects • Contribute to change control processes, including impact assessments and documentation • Support process FMEA and risk analysis records • Drive continuous improvement initiatives Nina, our current intern has said ”Working at Abbott has allowed me to gain hands-on experience working in the medical device industry, offering opportunities to get involved in projects across the site and develop a broad technical understanding of ADC products. You should be studying for a degree in Mechanical engineering / software engineering, biomedical engineering or chemistry, and seeking a year in industry placement as part of your qualification. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a team and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.  You will need to have good oral and written communication skills to be able to prepare and review reports and technical documents.  You must be organised and flexible in your approach to work, with good attention to detail to ensure that data and analyses are accurate and meet the requirements of the project. We’re looking for someone who is passionate around STEM, and keen to pursue their career in the Medical Devices sector. Career growth and future opportunities are pillars of our program.
