Role Overview: As a Principal Software Engineer in Commercial Solutions at Mastercard, you’ll work with modern full-stack development practices and tools to create world-class microservices and web applications. You will drive the design and development of next-generation Reporting and Analytics platform. This platform powers real-time insights, scheduled reporting, AI-driven analytics, and intuitive BI dashboards. We’re building a global business-to-business (B2B) technology platform to help businesses of all sizes streamline how they manage payments when buying or selling products and services You will work in our Mastercard technology location in Pune, India, which provides a state-of-the-art environment for technology teams to thrive in our collaborative, Agile engineering culture. You will play a key role in how Mastercard transforms the B2B space to standardize, automate, and optimize digital payment efficiency for buyers and sellers. The role will require you to: • Contribute to the planning, design, and development of microservices on your team. • Build and own full-stack applications and services using Angular, Java, and PCF • Define and evolve the technical architecture for reporting, analytics, and visualization platforms • Drive semantic layer performance enhancements, indexing strategies, caching, and distributed access • Partner with data scientists to embed AI-driven insights. • Integrate and optimize BI tools, data platforms to power state of the art visualizations • Deliver code with exceptional quality and security that operates at scale • Participate in code reviews and retrospectives, and submit Pull Requests using Git • Collaborate with software engineers, test engineers, TPMs, and PM-Ts • Ensure that you use 12-factor app design principles in your development. • Ensure that the systems you create comply with Mastercard engineering best practices and governance models, including security, operations, and Enterprise Architecture requirements Required Experience: • Bachelors degree • Integrate and optimize BI tools, data platforms to power state of the art visualizations • Collaborate with software engineers, test engineers, TPMs, and PM-Ts • Ensure that you use 12-factor app design principles in your development. • Ensure that the systems you create comply with Mastercard engineering best practices and governance models, including security, operations, and Enterprise Architecture requirements Required Experience: • Bachelors degree • You have a solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals • You have experience with web technologies, including HTML5, CSS, Javascript, and front-end frameworks such as Angular • Strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot, Angular, Rest APIs, and microservices architecture. • Proven track record in database query optimization, performance tuning, and large-scale data processing (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka Streams, or similar) • Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka) and real-time data processing pipelines • Exposure to BI and analytics platforms, with hands-on work in data modeling, ETL, and reporting solutions • You have exposure to automated testing and releasing software in a continuous delivery model using Git • You enjoy working in an Agile team focused on continuous improvement • You have a strong desire to learn best practices and modern software architecture and collaborate within a team • You are passionate about the art of delivering the highest quality software to customers • You have excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical people Nice To Have: • Experience working within the commercial card space or corporate banking • Strong ability to multi-task, organize, manage, and implement complex projects whether directly or through supervision • Operates with minimal supervision and able to make informed, well-reasoned decisions independently • Thrives in an environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and customer-oriented. • Great hold on AI/ML usecases, applications. • Has a past experience in data engineering, data storage technologies Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices; Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed; Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
