JOB DESCRIPTION: Bring your passion, ideas and purpose to life in a company that can truly help you achieve your full potential. As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to high volume manufacturing in our Witney Centre of Excellence, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Operations Engineering team. The role of the Project Engineer will focus on managing, developing and performing process equipment validations for our bespoke machines used to manufacture and test our medical devices. You will provide technical project management input, and become an engineering point of contact working in wider project teams. You will be able to own project tasks and deliverables, responsible and committed to ensure that agreed project deliverables meet the requirements. You will manage complex capital projects with suppliers and subcontractors (including occasional site visits), collaborating with different stakeholders across the business in an inclusive and dynamic work environment. This role will offer plenty of opportunity to grow and build your engineering career whilst helping to shape the future of healthcare. The ideal candidate will bring a degree level education in an Engineering discipline, along with proven experience in Project Engineering. You will have a thirst for problem solving, an interest in automated machinery, and an inquisitive mind to explore technical opportunities. As we operate in a highly-regulated industry, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to follow procedures and create accurate documents and records of your work. In addition, we would look for you to share your experience with other team members, acting as a role model/mentor to those you work alongside. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a valued member of a highly skilled Engineering team working with brand new state-of-the-art automation in a fast growing area of our business. Engineering skill is key to us, with other team members working in areas including projects, process, production, systems, software, R&D and machine vision. As you’d expect from an innovative global health care company, we offer a competitive range of benefits including excellent salaries, a class-leading defined contribution pension scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, subsidised canteen and a flexible benefits scheme. Here at Witney, we also like to help our employees live life to the fullest, and therefore we offer a range of optional initiatives for you to get involved in, including onsite allotments, couch to 5k campaigns, bee keeping, yoga and more! Abbott is about the power of health. For more than 135 years, Abbott has been helping people reach their potential — because better health allows people and communities to achieve more. Joining us, you can shape your career as you shape the future of healthcare. Whether it’s next-generation diagnostics, life-changing devices, science-based nutrition, or novel reformulations, we are advancing some of the most innovative and revolutionary technologies in healthcare, helping people live their best lives through better health.
