This role will be based out of Bengaluru, India . Position Overview:   Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) is seeking a Senior Architect BMS with experience in Battery Management systems software development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust solutions that enhance our software products and services, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. A background or experience in the aviation domain is preferred. Position Responsibilities :   Design and implement software architecture for battery management systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and develop software that supports complex applications. Develop and maintain design patterns, best practices, and technical specifications. Write user stories in collaboration with the Product Owner and contribute to backlog grooming sessions to ensure requirements achieve the right level of Definition of Ready (DoR). Participation in planning, definition, and high-level design of solutions, exploring alternatives and establishing high-level solution intent. Participate in the Trade studies, Processor selection for the system, preparation of white papers Leading and guiding the Lab setup, Hardware selection and testing Define subsystems and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities, and communicate requirements for interactions Work with stakeholders to analyze the impact of design decisions Mentor and guide junior engineers in Battery management, architecture principles, Embedded C, Platform and application software development Collaborate with international teams to align technical roadmaps and system designs across different locations. Manage technical debt and ensure the continuous improvement of software design. Cross collaboration with various projects across the organization and involvement in technical initiatives. Provide support for the development of internal competencies and resources for critical skill sets. Travel domestically and internationally as required.   Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): A Bachelor’s/ Master's degree (B.tech/M.tech) or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION Minimum of 15 years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering. Strong knowledge of aerospace domain, standards, particularly DO-178C. Strong knowledge of Software architecture Product knowledge of Battery Management Systems Strong knowledge of Processors, RTOS, Microcontrollers etc . Experience with Model-Based Development as per DO-331 using MathWorks MATLAB/Simulink family products such as MATLAB/Simulink, State flow, Simulink Test, Simulink Check or similar. Proficient in low-level real-time embedded software design, including experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and low-level interface drivers for microcontrollers (e.g., GPIO, ADC, I2C, SPI, NVM). Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (e.g., Azure DevOps). Proficiency in Embedded C programming Proficiency in Platform software development Experience in Lab setup, hardware selection, procurement Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering results in high-pressure environments. Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodologies. Typical Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 16+ years of relevant work experience.
