What you’ll achieve As a Senior Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions. You will: Contribute to the design and architecture of high-quality, High performance storage solutions Prepare, review and evaluate software/storage specifications for products and systems Build and review design, functional, technical and/or user documentation, as needed Contribute to the development and implementation of test strategies for complex software products and systems/for storage products and systems Take the first step towards your dream career Every Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here’s what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements Extensive experience in software development , with a strong emphasis on hardware integration and low-level driver programming. Proficient in C/C++, with deep expertise in systems programming and working close to the hardware. Skilled in Python and Perl for automation and testing workflows, with hands-on experience using Docker for containerized deployment and modern DevOps practices. Proven track record of owning and leading cross-functional areas and delivering robust, high-performance, and reliable software solutions across diverse platforms. Demonstrated ability to initiate , design, implement, and debug scalable and complex software systems, with minimal supervision or oversight. Quick to adapt and learn new tools, programming languages, and operating systems through structured training and hands-on experience. Desirable Requirements 10+ years of related experience with Bachelor’s degree along with e xperience in Jira and Agile development methodologies, k nowledge of the Linux kernel, kernel drivers. Experience in embedded system bring-up and lifecycle management, including upgrades.
