Job Title : Director, Software Engineering & India Site Leader Location : Bangalore, India   The Opportunity Cisco Silicon One is expanding its global footprint, and we are establishing a new SW Center of Excellence in Bangalore. We are seeking a visionary Site Leader to build this site from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to combine the agility and culture of a startup with the resources and scale of Cisco’s unified silicon organization. Meet the Team You will join the Cisco Silicon One team, the powerhouse behind our unified silicon architecture for hyper-scalers, web-scale, and service provider networks. We provide a unique environment for ASIC and Software engineers, blending a sizable, multi-geography organization with a fast-paced, collaborative culture. Your Impact As the Site Leader, you will be the face and voice of Cisco Silicon One SW in India. Your success will define the trajectory of this new site. You will carry a dual mandate: leading a core technical engineering team while simultaneously driving the strategic growth of the Bangalore site. Build from Ground Zero: You will establish the site’s foundation immediately, with a strategic mandate to scale operations significantly over the coming years based on business impact. Strategic Bridge: You will act as the primary liaison between the India site and our global engineering hubs. You will partner with leaders across SDK, QA, and other domains to understand technical roadmaps and translate them into local hiring strategies. Talent Magnetism: You will drive the recruitment strategy, utilizing your network and reputation to attract top-tier engineering talent in a competitive market. You won't just hire; you will set the bar for excellence. Cultural Architect: You will foster a culture of technical depth, innovation, and psychological safety. You are responsible for the "health" of the site, ensuring retention and engagement remain high. Engineering Leadership: Beyond site logistics, you will serve as the direct Engineering Manager for one of our primary software teams (SDK/Datapath/QA), providing technical guidance and mentorship. Minimum Qualifications We are looking for a leader who "cannot go wrong"—someone with the gravitas to lead senior engineers and the operational savvy to run a site. Experienced Engineering Leader: You have a proven track record of managing large (30+ people), high-performing software teams, within the Semiconductor or Networking domains. You have 10+ years of experience in the industry. Site Builder: You have experience scaling teams in India, understanding the nuances of the local market, compensation structures, and talent landscape. Technical Depth: You possess the technical background to command the respect of senior engineers. You understand the complexities of SDKs, ASICs, and networking protocols. Global Collaborator: You are comfortable working across time zones and cultures, capable of influencing stakeholders without direct authority. You hold a BSC or a higher degree, from a leading university, with excellence.
