We are currently seeking a transportation intern to support finished vehicle and general cargo shipments for Europe. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the logistics and supply chain industry. Interns will collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Engineering teams to execute processes and manage changes. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Interns will be expected to demonstrate a willingness to learn quickly and strive for excellence within a fast-paced environment. Learning Opportunities: Gain practical experience in preparing, handling, and coordinating inbound/outbound shipments and documentation (proforma invoices, customs clearance requests, and delivery instructions) to ensure the timely delivery of parts, components, and vehicles in Europe. Learn to ensure the most cost-effective rate is used to move cargo/packages within the required timeframe from the most reliable sources. Develop skills in providing timely updates of shipment details and updating the system to meet documentation requirements. Understand the importance of safely storing and structuring all transport documents in a digital format. Assist in filing and following up on transportation claims per supplier, gaining insight into the claims process. Collect and analyze transportation rates and performance per supplier, enhancing analytical skills. Help oversee and solve operational issues; participate in supplier performance reviews and keep internal stakeholders informed about improvement plans. Participate in the project of transportation management system for both parts and finished vehicles, gaining project management experience. Plan for adequate carrier capacity and storage space to keep pace with volume growth, learning about capacity planning. Skills & Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Engineering, or a related field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with success in working across organizations at all levels. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Strong computer proficiency in MS Office, Smartsheet, and Lucidchart. Experience with SAP and TMS software applications is a plus.
