If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.  Lucid Motors is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Control Systems Architect to join our Architecture team, driving the design and implementation of advanced control architectures for next-generation automotive systems. Reporting directly to the Head of Architecture, you will lead the definition of scalable, modular, and safety-compliant control strategies across key vehicle domains, including powertrain, chassis, thermal systems, and energy management, in close collaboration with ADAS teams. This role combines strategic system architecture leadership with hands-on technical execution, ensuring that our control systems deliver optimal performance, uncompromising reliability, and full compliance with industry safety and regulatory standards. You will play a pivotal role in shaping how our vehicles think, respond, and perform—today and for the future. We offer a competitive compensation package, a flexible work environment, and strong opportunities for career growth, empowering you to thrive while shaping the future of transportation.   You Will Collaborate within the architecture team and broader cross-functional teams across the E/E stack to define and evolve vehicle control system architecture aligned with product roadmaps and platform strategies. Lead system-level control architecture across multiple vehicle domains: powertrain, vehicle dynamics, thermal systems, energy management, and ADAS. Define control system interfaces, control loops, and functional partitioning across real-time embedded ECUs and distributed vehicle networks (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Guide the selection and use of real-time embedded platforms. Lead architecture and design of centralized ECU systems responsible for interfacing with critical peripherals such as braking and steering systems. Design and optimize power management and power state strategies for different battery technologies, including low-voltage lead-acid and Li-ion chemistries for 12V and 48V systems. Incorporate ECU hardware and software design considerations to support these varying power states efficiently and reliably. Drive model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, including support for automatic code generation and integration processes. Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and support the development of safety architectures, hazard analyses, and safety cases in collaboration with Functional Safety teams. Support system-level integration and in-vehicle validation in collaboration with testing and calibration teams. Participate in producing architectural specifications, initiate architectural reviews, and contribute to interface definitions, overall documentation, and system traceability. Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, systems, quality, safety, and cybersecurity teams to ensure cohesive and compliant system delivery.   You Bring Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive control systems, including architecture definition and cross-domain integration. Strong expertise in control theory, system dynamics, and embedded control system design. Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink and model-based development tools, including automatic code generation (e.g., Embedded Coder). Familiarity with ISO 26262 and experience working with ASIL-rated systems. Experience with automotive ECUs, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet), and development tools (e.g., CANalyzer, INCA). Proven experience in power management and low-voltage battery system design (lead-acid and Li-ion, 12V and 48V). Strong systems thinking, analytical skills, and architectural mindset. Excellent communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills.   Great to Have Experience with electric vehicles (EVs) or autonomous vehicle systems. Familiarity with AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive platforms. Familiarity with vehicle systems engineering, ASPICE, and ISO/SAE 21434 (cybersecurity). Hands-on experience with HiL, MiL, and SiL testing, vehicle calibration, and real-time embedded systems. Knowledge of Body Control, Vehicle Control, and Thermal Systems, including function resource allocation. Expertise in both zonal centralized and domain ECU architectures, with a clear understanding of the pros and cons of both architectures; experience in CPU benchmarking, AUTOSAR, middleware implementation, and real-time processor design focused on simplifying harness complexity. Experience designing centralized ECU architectures interfacing with critical vehicle peripherals such as braking and steering. Familiarity with homologation processes and regulatory requirements.   Educational Requirements   Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; Master’s degree preferred.   Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.  Base Pay Range (Annual)$246,800 - $361,900 USD Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
