As a Lead Flutter Engineer, you’ll guide our Flutter projects, mentor engineers, and help define practical development best practices. You’ll collaborate with other team leaders to shape our Flutter practice, while also playing a key client-facing role, communicating technical decisions and ensuring we deliver high-quality, scalable applications. What you will do: Lead the technical strategy and architecture for our Flutter projects, making critical decisions on state management, app structure, and native integration that ensure our solutions are scalable, maintainable, and high-performance. Mentor and elevate a team of Flutter engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Drive the adoption of engineering best practices by establishing and socializing standards for testing, CI/CD, performance monitoring, and code quality across the mobile team. Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend leads to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, challenging assumptions and advocating for sustainable architectural choices. Own the end-to-end quality and delivery of major product features, from initial concept and technical specification through to deployment and monitoring, ensuring we ship with confidence. What you will achieve: Within your first 3 months, you will have established yourself as the go-to Flutter expert, taken ownership of a key project's architecture, and implemented a process improvement that enhances team productivity. By the 6-month mark, you will have successfully mentored a mid-level engineer, guided the team through a complex technical challenge, and improved a key performance metric (e.g., app launch time, frame rate) for a live application. Your leadership will be evident in the team's output, with a measurable increase in code quality, test coverage, and deployment frequency due to the standards and systems you've put in place. Within your first year, you will have spearheaded the development and launch of a significant new product or major feature, on time and to a high standard of quality, establishing a new benchmark for mobile excellence at Fueled. You will build a reputation as a multiplier whose strategic technical contributions and mentorship have a lasting, positive impact on the team's capabilities and morale. About you: You have 5+ years of experience in native iOS & Android app development, with at least 3 years focused on Flutter, and a proven track record of leading the development of complex, shipped applications. You are a natural leader and mentor who derives satisfaction from elevating the skills of those around you and has a demonstrated ability to guide technical decision-making for a team. Your expertise in Flutter is deep and extensive, encompassing everything from advanced state management (Bloc, Riverpod), dependency injection and animations to crafting clean, layered architecture that stands the test of time. You possess a strong strategic mindset, able to look beyond the immediate task to consider the long-term health, scalability, and business impact of the technical solutions you advocate for. You are an excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of building consensus between technical and non-technical stakeholders and translating high-level goals into actionable engineering plans.
