More info at Akidolabs.com.The Opportunity We are seeking an Associate General Counsel to help grow and scale our legal and compliance functions. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal issues at the intersection of technology and healthcare, directly impacting our ability to expand access to quality care for vulnerable populations. You will be a foundational member of a growing legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel, taking on a broad range of responsibilities and partnering with leadership to shape the future of Akido. What you’ll do Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including physician contracts, payor agreements, and vendor contracts. Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related questions from internal teams. Oversee M&A activity and manage due diligence processes. Develop and maintain compliance materials for operations in multiple jurisdictions. Manage responses to audits and support compliance escalations. Partner with the product team to conduct risk assessments for AI products and new service lines. Manage corporate governance matters. Provide counsel on HR and employment issues, including policy updates, performance management, and litigation. Support credentialing, licensing, and immigration matters. Who you are J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state (California preferred). 5+ years of relevant legal experience (in-house experience at a high-growth healthcare technology company preferred). Expertise in healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute). Broad-based experience with commercial contracts, corporate governance, and employment law (preferred). Pragmatic, business-oriented approach to problem-solving with a passion for innovation. Based in Los Angeles area (preferred).
