Job Overview As a Document Automation Specialist, you will work directly with clients to design, build, and optimize document automation solutions. This role focuses on logic-based document and template automation using Microsoft Word and HotDocs.As an Automation Solutions Specialist, you will design, build, and optimize automated document templates by applying structured logic and advanced Word functionality. This is not a software engineering role; it is a hands-on, client-facing position centered on document automation, efficiency, and repeatable solutions. Prior HotDocs experience is a plus, but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate with strong logical thinking skills. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct requirements-gathering sessions to understand client needs Design and build HotDocs templates, ensuring logical accuracy and maintainability Utilize HotDocs scripting to implement automation logic, including: Dynamic variables, conditional logic Logic checks (IF, AND, OR) Loops (WHILE, FOR) Nested logic structures Troubleshoot and refine template logic for efficiency and accuracy Maintain detailed documentation of template logic, automation structures, and client requirements Provide training and consultation to clients, building their own templates Balance multiple client projects, communicating with project and team resources daily Requirements & Qualifications: Communicate clearly and confidently in English, both verbally and in writing Highly organized and detail-oriented Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including: Creating, modifying, and applying Themes Managing page dimensions, borders, headers, and footers Creating and using Macros Experience with Mail Merge Analytical problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and repeatability Experience building HotDocs templates is a major plus Experience in document automation, legal technology, or professional services All applicants meeting minimum qualifications will be required to complete a 30-minute online assessment as part of your candidate application Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
