We are seeking an Associate Manager, Laboratory Operations to join IQVIA Laboratories in Ithaca, NY . As the Associate Manager of LCMS Operations, you will serve as the technical heartbeat of our laboratory. This is a "player-coach" role designed for an experienced scientist who wants to lead a team while staying deeply connected to the science. You will oversee daily operations for our mass spectrometry and chromatography platforms, ensuring technical excellence and data integrity in a regulated environment. What You’ll Do Act as the primary technical lead for Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers and UPLC systems (Waters and other major manufacturers). Lead compound optimization, calibration, tuning, and the integration of chromatographic peaks. Oversee data analysis and uploads within Watson LIMS, ensuring strict adherence to SOPs and regulatory guidelines (GLP/GCP/CLIA). Serve as the final escalation point for technical anomalies, articulating complex hardware and method challenges to cross-functional stakeholders. Supervise a team of laboratory professionals, managing daily workflows, scheduling, and training on sample preparation and robotic liquid handling. Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the bioanalytical workflow. What we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology. Minimum 5 years of experience in a regulated laboratory environment. At least 4 years of experience in a relevant laboratory discipline. Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. The knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this role: A Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science. Minimum of 4-5 years of hands-on experience in a regulated laboratory, with a deep focus on Triple Quad Mass Spec and UPLC. Experience with Watson LIMS or equivalent bioanalytical data management systems. The ability to not just solve a problem, but to explain the "why" behind it to both technical and non-technical team members.
