About this unit     3H is a 22 Neuroscience/Spine unit at Blodgett Hospital that specializes in the care of patients admitted with neurological conditions, stroke, and spinal surgeries such as fusions and laminectomies. Employees are often drawn to 3H for the variety of patients while still having a specialty focus. Our employees become competent in caring for a large array of both surgical and medical patients and become experts in the care of patients within our specialties. Specifically, our team is known as being experts in stroke and the care of a wide variety of neurological conditions, managing the care of wounds, drains and post-operative recovery.  Additional unique skills that those hired to 3H will learn include utilization of the NIHSS Stroke Scale.         About Blodgett Hospital   Set within a quiet, beautifully maintained property of mature trees and healing gardens. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
