As an R&D Application Engineer , you’ll take full ownership of the design and development of automotive headlamp actuators – from technical feasibility to customer validation. You’ll act as the main technical contact for internal teams, suppliers, and customers, ensuring that every design decision supports performance, quality, and innovation. Your Responsibilities: Analyze customer specifications , evaluate technical feasibility , estimate cost implications, and define design requirements & dimension chains. Lead product validation activities , including DFMEA and pre-dimensioning tests for proof of concept. Coordinate with suppliers on tooling and component requirements, and ensure compliance with IMDS and material declarations. Support problem-solving activities (PDCA) related to quality or design. Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) and support implementation in ERP Prepare specifications and documentation for end-of-line inspection and serial production changes. Collaborate with manufacturing sites (Switzerland, Serbia, China) to support production launch and ensure product readiness. Propose technical innovations and new concepts to management. Verify 2D and 3D CAD data , perform metrological analysis , and ensure no patent conflicts. Monitor and analyze competitor technologies and products Our Requirements: Master’s degree or above in Mechanical, Mechatronic or related engineering field. 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the automotive industry. Fluent in English ; additional French is an advantage . Basic knowledge of CAD and PLM, preferably SolidEdge and Teamcenter respectively Strong technical mindset and analytical thinking, with hands-on problem-solving ability. Strong understanding of DFMEA, PDCA, and 8D. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. Autonomous, proactive, and curious approach to engineering challenges. Offre d'emploi en français Nous recherchons notre futur(e) collègue pour rejoindre l’équipe  R&D d’AML SYSTEMS - Johnson Electric sur le site du Bourget. En tant que Pilote Étude R&D , vous aurez la responsabilité complète de la conception et du développement des actionneurs de phares automobiles – de la faisabilité technique jusqu’à la validation client. Vous serez le principal interlocuteur technique pour les équipes internes, les fournisseurs et les clients, en veillant à ce que chaque décision de conception soutienne la performance, la qualité et l’innovation. Vos Responsabilités: Analyser les spécifications clients, évaluer la faisabilité technique , estimer les implications en termes de coûts et définir les exigences de conception ainsi que les chaînes de cotes. Mener les activités de validation produit, y compris les DFMEA et les essais de pré-dimensionnement pour la preuve de concept. Coordonner les exigences techniques avec les fournisseurs (outillages, composants) et garantir la conformité IMDS et les déclarations de matériaux. Participer aux activités de résolution de problèmes (PDCA) liées à la qualité ou à la conception. Gérer les nomenclature produit et aider à l’implémentation dans les systèmes ERP Préparer les spécifications et la documentation pour les contrôles en fin de ligne et les modifications en production série. Collaborer avec les sites de production ( Suisse, Serbie, Chine ) pour accompagner les lancements et garantir la préparation des produits. Proposer des innovations techniques et de nouveaux concepts à la direction. Vérifier les données CAO 2D et 3D , réaliser des analyses métrologiques et s’assurer de l’absence de conflits de brevets. Surveiller et analyser les technologies et produits concurrents . Votre Profil: Diplôme de Master ou équivalent en mécanique, mécatronique ou domaine d’ingénierie similaire. 3 à 5 ans d’expérience pertinente, de préférence dans l’industrie automobile. Maîtrise de l’ anglais ; le français est un atout. Connaissance basique en CAO et PLM, respectivement SolidEdge et Teamcenter de préférence Solide esprit technique et analytique, avec une approche pratique de la résolution de problèmes. Bonne connaissance des méthodes DFMEA, PDCA et 8D . Excellentes compétences en communication et capacité à travailler de manière transversale. Attitude autonome, proactive et curieuse face aux défis techniques. Disponibilité pour des déplacements occasionnels en Europe et en Asie.
