From routine deliveries to high-risk pregnancies, parents have the reassurance that Cleveland Clinic Akron General offers Level III Obstetric Service, the highest level of care available in obstetrics. Our specially trained staff, maternal-fetal medicine specialists and anesthesiologists are available 24-hours a day.     As a Nurse Manager , you will manage the delivery of care within the Labor and Delivery unit at Akron General Medical Center . In this role, you will provide diagnostic or therapeutic services to patients while offering clinical su pervision, maintaining quality outcomes and supervising all aspects of personnel manage ment and develop ment. Ultimately, your dedication and leadership help enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience for everyone, wheth er they are patients, visitors or fellow caregivers.       A caregiver in this position works day s from 7:30AM – 4:00PM.     A caregiver who excels in this role will:    Manage the practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.    Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.    Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.    Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to insure efficient and effective delivery of health services.   Supervise caregivers and promote development.    Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.    Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments.    Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish /revise inventory quotes.   Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.    Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.    Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.      Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN)   Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)   Basic Life Support (BLS) c ertification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross   Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience   High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area   Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills     Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Experience in fetal monitoring   Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification     Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
