Here, you can build a rewarding, lifelong career while receiving endless support and encouragement.   A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) diagnoses and treats conditions that affect the ability to communicate and swallow. As an expert in communication, the SLP assesses, diagnoses, treats and helps prevent speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders. In this role, you will help patients improve their speech, open new communication possibilities and enhance their ability to comprehend others, express themselves, and swallow safely. This caregiver will support the speech language pathology team and rehab department while having the opportunity to provide help and float to other hospitals as needed. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working various shifts between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will:   Evaluate and treat patients with injuries and/or diseases which result in a loss or impairment of speech, language, voice, cognitive and/or swallowing function.   Assist triage of treatments/assessments with weekend calls to department for pending discharges. Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions.   Establish goals and plans of care.   Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard speech therapy techniques and skills.   Complete documentation.   Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Master’s Degree  Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program  Current Ohio license as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)  Hold or have applied for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   1-2 years of experience in a clinical area  Experienced SLP (3+ years) Experience with evaluation and treatment of tracheostomy and speaking valve assessments Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
