Here, you will work alongside passionate and dedicated caregivers, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.   Occupational Therapists provide many wide-ranging services to a variety of people who have been referred by a physician due to a problem with their ability to perform normal activities of daily living (ADLs). This may be due to physical injury, emotional or developmental problems, stroke, elective surgery, disease processes, aging, or birth defects, just to name a few. The goal of OT is to maximize the ability of everyone to perform self-care, work, and leisure activities to the best of their physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities. Ultimately, the goal is also to help people re-learn skills needed to live independent, productive, and satisfying lives.     A caregiver in this position works varying shifts, 8:00am—7:00pm.     A caregiver who excels in this role will:    Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.   Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills .   Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.    Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities .   Document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.   Monitor and modify the plan of care as needed.    Seek consultation as necessary.   Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.   Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.   Provide information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.   Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and OT practice standards.   Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    Bachelor’s degree.    Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.    Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT).    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.      Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Experience in a clinical area.    OT experience.      Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor. Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program. Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse. Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors. Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families. Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.
