Additionally, this caregiver provides techniques for prevention of injuries. Located in Dover, Ohio, Union Hospital is an award-winning community hospital serving the communities of eastern Ohio. Community and personalized care are at the forefront of Union Hospital’s values.         Caregivers in this role will gain experience and knowledge working alongside experienced caregivers and under the supervision of a physician. This experience could prepare a caregiver for a potential full-time role in the future.       A caregiver in this role will work part-time in a rotational schedule and may need to be available on nights and weekends.       A caregiver who excels in this role, will:   Prepare athletes for practice or competition.   Evaluate and manage injuries and determine if a referral is necessary.   Maintain a medical file on each athlete and act as a liaison between the physician and athlete.   Implement treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician.   D evelop conditioning programs for athletes.   P erform comprehensive health maintenance reviews and provide oral reports to the physician regarding patient history and the chief complaint.   Review post-visit instructions with the patient.        Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:   Bachelor's degree   Completion of an Athletic Training Program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs   Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) certified by National Athletic Trainers Board of Certification (NATBOC)   Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider   State Licensure as an Athletic Trainer (AT), if required by state law       Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:   Participation in training programs related to the ATC field       Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. May be required to drive to other locations.
