The Neurological Institute is known for being a leader in treating and researching the most complex neurological disorders and advancing innovations in neurology.    Operating on the brain requires extreme precision, and the neurosurgery team at Cleveland Clinic has years of training and experience in the most complex brain and spine surgeries. The neurosurgery team uses state-of-the-art tools to operate safely and, as often as possible, with minimally invasive techniques. For a full list of benefits, click here .  Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.  This is a full-time position. Calls and schedules are reviewed in interview. Shifts will not be assigned until after orientation. Six-month orientation for future caregivers who are new to OR specialty fields regardless of prior RN experience. Orientation is Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Participate in a residency core curriculum based on surgery core learning needs.   Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.   Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).   Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.   Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.   Document in patients’ medical records Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) New grad RN OR less than one year of RN work experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically . Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions of working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
