Here, you will provide stellar patient care, work with state-of-the-art technology and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.    As a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist, you will serve in a decentralized clinical role, providing direct patient care support to internal medicine teams within Cleveland Clinic’s inpatient setting. This position is embedded on the units and works closely with physicians, nurses, and other caregivers to optimize medication therapy in a fast paced, high volume environment. Our inpatient pharmacy supports both distributive and clinical services across 60 nursing units, 80 operating rooms, 4 PACUs, and 10 cath labs, spanning more than 1,440 inpatient beds. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a clinically focused pharmacist who thrives in a dynamic setting and values hands-on collaboration with care teams to improve patient outcomes. A caregiver in this position works day shifts and every 5th weekend.     A caregiver who excels in this role will:   Coordinate and provide pharmaceutical care for patients.   Participate in patient care rounds.   Perform pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and provision of pharmaceutical care for patients.   Provide general and patient-specific drug information.   Educate clinical pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy students, post-graduate trainees, allied health professionals, nurses and physicians in pharmacotherapy.   Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy   If hired for a specialty area where specialty residency training is available, then specialty residency is required   Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) OR eligible for reciprocation in the current state within 90 days of hire   Completion of a post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or fellowship OR completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY-1) and two years of experience as a clinical specialist or an equivalent role providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmaceutical monitoring OR four years of experience as a clinical specialist or an equivalent role providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring   For individuals required to administer immunizations: current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire   For individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events: current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross or certification obtained within 1 year of hire   Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Board Certification     Physical Requirements : Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.  Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting. Must have normal or corrected vision.
