This diversity is comparable to that of the Emergency Department (ED), so the hands-on experience you gain as   an   LPN is invaluable throughout the hospital system. Not only does this position offer an excellent way to enhance your nursing skills but also make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their families every day.      A caregiver in this position works   nights, from 7:00pm—7:30am.     A caregiver who excels in this role will:    Collect,   document   and report patient data and observations.    Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.    Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and   observe   patients for adverse reactions .       Perform routine laboratory tests.   Educate patients and family members.      Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program   Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)   Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)   or American Red Cross     Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   One year of patient care experience   Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination. Involves extensive standing and walking. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
