On our team, you will provide stellar care at one of the top healthcare organizations in the nation.      Fairview Hospital's Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides care to infants that need treatment to recover from severe illnesses and plays a vital role in nursing infants to thrive and achieve health weight post-birth. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to neonates, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, administering medication and treatments, assessing and coordinating patients’ discharge plans, and monitoring, recording and communicating patients’ condition. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.  A caregiver in this role works nights + on-call shifts from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct patient care to neonates in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocols. Implements and monitors patient care plans.  Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.  Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.  Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.  Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)  Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)  Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Heart Association (AHA) certification within one year of hire One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience  Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) NICU, Med/Surg or adult ICU experience Physical Requirements: Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
