The purpose of the class is to perform routine-to-moderately complex technical work in procuring equipment, supplies, and services for Richland County and to perform other work as necessary in support of effective and efficient department operations. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under limited guidance. Requires doing specialized technical or professional work requiring a general understanding of operating policies and procedures and their application to problems not previously encountered; application of specialized technical or professional principles and practices or using a wide range of administrative methods to solve problems. Requires a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in procurement, with specific expertise in the large-scale acquisition of supplies and services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or equivalent certification preferred. Compensation Minimum: $42,308.73
