Machine Operator (PowerFrame) Location: Red Oak, IA | Components Plant Pay: $22.67/hr with room to grow Bonus: Potential to earn up to 5% based on overall plant performance Pay Frequency: Weekly (Friday) Shifts: A & C Shifts (Days): 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM B & D Shifts (Nights): 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM 12-hour shifts (2-2-3 rotating schedule) Some weekday coverage may be required (Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM) What We Offer Paid vacation, sick time, and 13 paid holidays – with eligibility beginning on Day 1 Health, dental, and vision insurance 401k plan with company match Company contributions to Health Savings Account Annual bonus opportunity (up to 5% based on plant performance) Free employee battery program PPE, uniforms, and safety gear provided Career growth opportunities in a highly automated components plant Recognition programs and community engagement opportunities Job Responsibilities As a Machine Operator at our Red Oak PowerFrame® facility, you will operate and maintain precision manufacturing equipment used in grid production. Key responsibilities include: Operate casting, rolling mill, press, and lead pot equipment to produce PowerFrame® grids Monitor key parameters such as temperature, flow, speed, and product dimensions Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and product changeovers Inspect equipment and parts for quality, ensuring conformance to specifications Assist maintenance with equipment PMs, repairs, and troubleshooting Handle lead safely, following all environmental and safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, hazardous materials handling) Train and support new operators to ensure safe, efficient performance Document production data and quality checks accurately Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment Basic computer, math, reading, and writing skills Comfortable working 12-hour shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift up to 40 lbs. Comfortable working in a hot, industrial environment Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirator when applicable Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety About the Plant Our Red Oak, Iowa Components Plant specializes in manufacturing PowerFrame® grids , a critical component in automotive battery technology. Opened in 2003, the plant employs more than 80 people and operates six days per week. Red Oak has been recognized by the State of Iowa as a Renewable Energy Partner and was awarded the MidAmerican Energy Clean Air Excellence Award.
