Objective Design, develop, implement, and document an automated control system for decoration lines to reduce downtime and quality defects, leveraging InduSoft (HMI/SCADA), scripting (VBScript/Python), and SQL Server. The Role As a Digital Quality Control Systems Intern , you will support the creation and deployment of a digital solution that enhances quality control and operational efficiency in decoration lines at CEDIS Celaya. Your work will involve requirements analysis, system design, database development, and integration with PLCs and HMI. Key Responsibilities Requirements Gathering and Analysis Meet with operators, plant leaders, and integrators to map current processes, critical quality points, and downtime causes. Identify existing PLC signals, required variables (tags), production cycles, quality tolerances, and business rules. Document functional and non-functional requirements (sampling, data retention, frequency). Solution Design Define HMI↔PLC↔SQL architecture (tags, rates, buffers, traceability). Design SQL Server database structure for events, alarms, batches, and reports (tables, indexes, stored procedures). Develop alarm strategies, interlocks, and logic to prevent downtime (timers, watchdogs, alarm priorities). Implementation and Documentation Support system configuration and testing in InduSoft. Create scripts in VBScript or Python for automation and data handling. Document architecture, logic, and operational procedures for future maintenance. Expected Outcomes Automated Quality Control System: Real-time monitoring and alarms to reduce defects and downtime. Integrated Database: Centralized storage for events, alarms, and production data. Standardized Documentation: Clear procedures for system operation and maintenance. What You Bring (Qualifications) Schooling Area: Computer Systems Engineering Information Systems IT or related fields Desirable Knowledge: SQL Server (database design and queries) VBScript and Python (other languages like C++ or Java are a plus) HMI/SCADA systems (InduSoft preferred) PLC integration basics Core Competencies Analytical and problem-solving skills Technical curiosity and adaptability Collaboration and communication Attention to detail and documentation accuracy Work Model & Travel On-site at CEDIS Celaya .
