About the Role As a Youth Case Manager , you will work directly with young people experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges. You will provide consistent, strengths-based case management support, assisting clients to navigate their recovery journey within a trauma-informed, youth-focused, and culturally responsive environment . Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate creatively to deliver personalised, holistic support that responds to the complex needs of young people and young families. This position reports to the Youth AOD Coordinator and is based at our Garbutt, Townsville location. How You Will Make an Impact Deliver tailored case management to young people and young families affected by alcohol and other drug use, including assessment, referral, and advocacy Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AOD trends, evidence-based interventions, and best-practice approaches Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery Support clients to rebuild or strengthen positive family, social, and community connections Maintain accurate, timely, and client-centred documentation, including assessments and case plans developed collaboratively with clients What You Will Bring A degree in Social Work, Youth Work , or a related field, or a minimum Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, or similar , with relevant experience Demonstrated experience providing case management to individuals experiencing complex or challenging life circumstances Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice , mental health, and adolescent development Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, with sensitivity to cultural and religious perspectives A current Driver’s Licence A valid Working with Children Check A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain promptly) What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including:  Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
