About the Role As an Education Support Officer (ESO), you will work collaboratively with teaching staff to support students in reaching their full potential. This role focuses on supporting students in Years 10–12* (*subject to individual school requirements), helping to foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning experience. Key Responsibilities Support student learning in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings under the direction of classroom teachers. Promote a growth mindset and encourage student engagement and confidence in learning. Model and support positive social and emotional development, including assisting with the implementation of behaviour support plans. Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with The Salvation Army policies and relevant legislation. Assist with data collection for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). About You You will bring: A Certificate III or IV in Education Support (or equivalent qualification). A current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or eligibility to obtain one. Experience working with young people disengaged from mainstream education, with the ability to motivate and re-engage them in learning or training pathways. A sound understanding of trauma-informed practice and its impact on young people. Experience supporting students in a Special Assistance School environment, particularly within Years 10–12. Please note: Working days and hours align with school operational requirements during term time, with stand-down periods during school holidays.
