About the role The Team Leader oversees a team of Case Managers and Youth Workers supporting young people in transitional accommodation, ensuring high‑quality service delivery across the Oasis Transitional Accommodation Service (OTAS). The role includes managing the Oasis ‘drop‑in’ service, holding a small caseload of young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and supporting those not accommodated within Oasis Youth Service. Working closely with the management team, the Team Leader ensures all practice aligns with Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) principles and Trauma‑Informed Frameworks across Oasis Youth Services. Based in Darlinghurst and occasional work from Oasis Youth Service in Surry Hills this is a permanent full-time position , Monday – Friday 38 hours per week between 8.30am – 4.36pm, occasional evenings and weekends. Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with SCHADS 6. How you will make an impact Ensure service delivery aligns with TSA’s Journey to Independence Model of Care and oversee implementation of the TSA Case Management Framework across key life domains. Lead and supervise Case Managers and Youth Workers, providing guidance on complex issues, monitoring performance against KPIs, addressing concerns, and supporting continuous learning through supervision, team meetings, and reflective practice. Manage the OTAS ‘drop‑in’ service, including rostering, staffing, and participation in the on‑call roster. Hold a small caseload of young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, ensuring all residents have current risk and safety documentation and that intake and induction processes follow TSA policies. Maintain strong relationships with internal and external accommodation providers and act as the key liaison for Rent Choice Youth (RCY), including attending panel meetings. Build and sustain positive stakeholder and community partnerships, and promote youth participation through regular resident engagement. Collaborate with Oasis Crisis Refuge, Therapeutic, and Outreach programs to ensure consistent, integrated service delivery. Oversee payroll/Kronos tasks, communication systems, recruitment processes, and induction of new staff. Collect, analyse, and use program data to evaluate outcomes, implement improvements, and contribute to sector reform while reporting on compliance and program progress. Ensure the OTAS environment reflects Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) principles, applying trauma‑informed and developmental theories to practice, and leading the team in embedding PIE across the residential setting. Oversee site maintenance, WHS requirements, resource administration, and support budget compliance with the Program Manager. Review feedback and practice data to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with TSA’s Journey to Independence Model of Care. What you will bring Experience and competency in delivering case management practice within the homeless service system. Strong understanding of refuge/residential service provision Excellent organization and administrative skills with capacity to balance workload and determine priorities while also addressing the needs of a crisis accommodation environment. Demonstrated experience in the management and leadership of staff. Understanding of Psychological Informed Environment (PIE) and trauma informed frameworks. Strong verbal and communication skills Computer skills — Microsoft Office. Degree qualification in social work, social sciences or related field is required.
