Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration, and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey. About the role As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, this is your opportunity to deliver high quality, safe and effective responses to victim survivors of Family Violence, to men who use violence and to families who need extra support with the care of children. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent full-time role, located in Wonthaggi, VIC. How you will make an impact Deliver screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals in line with the Integrated Practice Framework, Operational Guidelines, Service Specifications and relevant risk assessment tools and frameworks. Identify, assess and prioritise risks and needs of women and children, families and perpetrators, drawing on the expertise of practitioners within a multidisciplinary team. Identify when a Central Information Point request is required and refer the request to the Integrated Team Leader, including submitting endorsed requests for allocation into core services. Apply for brokerage on behalf of clients in accordance with Brokerage Guidelines and organisational requirements. Accurately record client information in the Orange Door Client Relationship Management system and provide interim support as a lead practitioner or support worker aligned with the Integrated Practice Framework. Participate in training and professional development activities to build capability to work effectively within the Hub environment. What you will bring A Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent field is essential Demonstrated experience working in the family violence sector (desirable) Demonstrated case management experience and skills Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision The willingness to undergo a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.  A current VIC drivers licence and employee Working with Children’s Check What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including:  Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
