The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems, automotive communication protocols, and modern software development practices. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software solutions for automotive network systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.Grade Specific ResponsibilitiesSoftware Architecture DesignDevelop and document software architecture for safety critical systems in compliance with ISO 26262 and other relevant standardsDefine software safety requirements and allocate them to architectural componentsDesign fault tolerant systems with redundancy diagnostics and safe statesCollaborate with hardware teams to ensure alignment of software and hardware architecturesFunctional Safety ComplianceConduct safety analysis such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis FTACreate and review work products required for safety compliance including Safety Cases and Software Safety PlansEnsure traceability between safety requirements architecture and implementationDevelopment and Verification SupportGuide software development teams in implementing safety critical componentsSupport testing and validation activities including unit tests integration tests and fault injection testsConduct reviews and audits of safety critical software artifactsProcess and ToolsDefine and optimize development processes to meet safety critical standardsSelect and implement appropriate tools for safety analysis architecture modeling and compliance trackingCollaboration and CommunicationWork closely with system engineers hardware designers and project managers to ensure cohesive system designProvide technical guidance and training on functional safety and software architecture principlesCommunicate technical solutions and safety concepts to stakeholdersRequired Skills and CompetenciesCore Technical SkillsStrong expertise in software architecture design for embedded systemsProficiency in C C++ or other programming languages used in automotive systemsExperience with safety critical software development processes and tools such as AUTOSAR MATLAB Simulink Enterprise ArchitectKnowledge of hardware software interfaces microcontrollers and real time operating systems RTOSFunctional Safety KnowledgeIn depth understanding of ISO 26262 ASPICE and related standardsFamiliarity with safety mechanisms such as watchdogs error correction codes and memory protectionSoft Skills and CompetenciesStrong problem solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesLeadership skills to guide development teams and drive technical decisionsCollaboration and stakeholder managementTime management and attentivenessLearning mindsetVerbal and written communicationPreferred QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or a related fieldSix or more years of experience in automotive software development with at least two years focused on functional safetyCertification in ISO 26262 or related areas is a plusCapgemini is a global business and technology transformation partner, helping organizations to accelerate their dual transition to a digital and sustainable world, while creating tangible impact for enterprises and society.
