Where no two days are the same.YOUR ROLEWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Photonics Design Engineer to support the development and optimization of cutting-edge photonic integrated circuits (PICs) in Leuven. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in photonic component design, modeling, and layout, who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Design, model, and layout photonic components and integrated circuits using industry-standard tools.Set up and execute design of experiments (DoE) to validate and optimize photonic designs.Analyze test data to extract performance metrics and guide design improvements.Translate customer requirements into system-level concepts and PIC architectures.Contribute to the enhancement of existing photonic platforms.Maintain and update design libraries, documentation, and standard operating procedures.YOUR PROFILEDegree in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).Proven experience in photonic design and simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical, IPKISS, Synopsys, etc.).Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB).Familiarity with PIC fabrication processes and testing methodologies.Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.Preferred Skills:Experience with silicon photonics or other integrated photonic platforms.Knowledge of optical communication systems and applications.Experience working with customer-driven design requirements. WHAT YOU’LL LOVE ABOUT WORKING HERE? At Capgemini Belgium we offer flexibility in more than one way: next to our hybrid way of working, where we offer you can work 70% from home, we also offer our flex abroad program.
