Job Description The Role:   The  Human Factors   Screens & Virtual Controls Engineer   is a   part of   the   Human Interface Design   organization, responsible for   ensuring intuitive   in-vehicle screen customer interactions . This role focuses on evaluating digital control interfaces throughout the UI screen   design development   process and supports continuous improvements to existing Operating Systems.   This   role   advocates   for customer usability , applies Human Factors criteria to screen based controls and leverages user data analysis to inform design decisions. Success in this position requires strong collaboration across Design, Product, Program   Management   and Quality teams .     The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering   a   user   focused experience   and has a solid foundation in Human Factors and UI principles .        What You'll Do:   Review UI   s creen   d esigns   in   Figma   across   Operating System s and   prioritized domains   to   perform   H uman Factors   evaluations   throughout design deliverable gates.    Translate evaluation findings into   actionable design recommendations   that enhance   customer usability and shape   the in-vehicle screen   and virtual control experience.    Partner closely with UI Designers to proactively apply Human Factors Best Practices, Design Systems and Control Strategy Plan adhering to   known   automotive safety standards and regulatory guidance .       P rovid e   and synthesize   customer   data , including lessons learned,   to   support   D esign rationale   & Product Management roadmap s ,   strateg ies   and Product Requirement Documents (PRD) .     Request and coordinate customer clinics or surveys collaborating with H uman Factors Usability, Design Research and G lobal   C ustomer   R esearch   teams   to   gather customer insights when needed.    Participate in   regular   Vehicle   Operating System   Design review   meetings   contributing to   discussions and   decisions   while focusing on   customer   usability   and intuitive interaction.   Engage   in Program Management analysis meetings   and ensure   accurate   tracking of Human Factors recommendations in   Jira   capability   and design tickets .      Communicate   issues   within   Human Factors Triage, Escalation and Director meetings   to drive   resolution .      Serve as the liaison for Human Factors   Vehicle Programs   by providing status updates on customer reach and   visibility   of   in- screen control content .     Your Skills & Abilities Needed (Qualifications):   Bachelor’s degree in Human   Factors, U ser Experience   d esign ,   Engineering   or related field   3+ years of experience in Human Factors, HMI   design   or U ser Experience Strong understanding of   human factors principles   and   automotive HMI design   Ability to   translate user research into actionable design requirements   Proficiency   in   problem-solving   with e xcellent   verbal, written,   and visual communication skills   Demonstrate   strong interpersonal skills   with the ability to partner   with   cross-functional teams   and lead   discussions     What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):     Master’s degree   Experience with   Figma   or similar design tools   Proficiency   in   Jira   for tracking tasks and supporting workflow documentation     Hands on experience   using   NX or   TcVIS   K nowledge of   automotive HMI standards including ISO,   SAE   and FMVSS
