If so, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mold Maker ! This role is based out of our injection molding facility located in Barrie, ON. Location : 31 Patterson Rd, Barrie, ON L4N 3V9 ( view on google maps! ) Shift Schedule: 12-Hour continental day shift (7 shifts bi-weekly) and/or Afternoon shift (Mon-Fri: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, with weekend rotation) Primary Responsibilities Manufacture mould components and carry out final fitting of the components to the mould Assemble or adjust complete moulds or segments of the mould to bring it to an operational state Use the work order and time record system to document labor hours and complete work order paperwork Assist in training other Canplas personnel in any areas related to the Department Assure the safety of personnel performing post molding machining operations on molded plastic parts Actively participate in the 5S, Hazards Made SAFE and continuous improvement programs and continuous participation in all facility waste management and environmentally related programs and training. Assist in implementing and maintaining 5S activities in the Mould Shop Responsible for following and carrying out HWIN Manifest procedure Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Any other duties as the need arises and assigned Requirements Ontario or Interprovincial certification as a Mold Maker OR Tool and Die Maker is required 5+ years in a Mold Making or Tool and Die work Manufacturing experience is a strong asset Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings Ability to operate manual and automated metalworking machinery independently Familiarity with molds featuring slides, lifters, mechanical pulls and set operations. Training or knowledge on welding, CNC, EDM, hot runners systems and CAD programming are strong assets Self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision. Skilled in tight tolerances, jigs, fixtures, and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills and collaborative approach.
