Job Details: Job Description: Altera Semiconductor is seeking a highly motivated FP&A Financial Controller to lead financial planning, cost control, and inventory management for our Penang operations. This role will oversee the local finance team and partner closely with operations, supply chain, and regional/global finance stakeholders to ensure strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and effective decision support. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of FP&A and controllership experience, with deep expertise in manufacturing cost structures, inventory controls, and variance analysis in a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Drive annual operating plan (AOP), rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning with Penang finance team. Provide timely and insightful financial analysis, including cost trends, margin analysis, and operational KPIs. Partner with operations and supply chain to support business decisions with fact-based financial insights. Prepare and present financial results, forecasts, and variance explanations to senior management. Cost Management Drive strong cost discipline across manufacturing, including standard cost setting, cost roll-ups, and cost variance analysis. Analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, usage, yield, labor, overhead absorption) and work with stakeholders to identify root causes and corrective actions. Support productivity initiatives, cost reduction programs, and continuous improvement efforts. Inventory & Working Capital Management Monitor inventory levels, turns, excess and obsolete (E&O) reserves, and slow-moving inventory. Partner with supply chain and operations to improve inventory accuracy, planning, and working capital efficiency. Financial Controllership & Compliance Ensure accurate and timely month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with corporate policies and applicable accounting standards. Support internal and external audits and address audit findings promptly. People & Stakeholder Management Lead, coach, and develop the local FP&A and finance team in Penang. Foster a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Act as a key finance business partner to site leadership and regional/global finance teams. Qualifications: Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent preferred. 8–12 years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A and controllership roles in manufacturing; semiconductor or high-tech industry experience strongly preferred. Proven expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing finance. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience leading and developing teams. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and advanced Excel; experience with financial planning tools is a plus.
