Vizient Intern Program Overview: This program is designed to foster a beneficial relationship and provide growth opportunities for Vizient, our employees, and collegiate students. Since 2000, our summer intern program has provided college undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students with practical experience that exposes them to multiple aspects of a career field and the healthcare industry. This full-time, paid intern program offers an opportunity to accelerate academic learning, apply classroom knowledge, and introduce students to a professional setting. Interns are assigned a supervisor to mentor/develop their business skills, as well as monitor their work experiences. Interns are integral members of the company’s team, setting goals, working toward deadlines, and actively participating in community service projects. The program requires the intern to commit to 10 weeks of participation in all formal training, mentoring, on-the-job learning, and opportunities to interact with senior leaders. Program starts June 1, 2026, and ends August 7, 2026 40 hours per week with a pay rate of $24 per hour. What we will do: We provide the tools and training necessary to succeed, as well as provide intentional development opportunities such as: Exposure to senior leadership to discuss the project, strategy, and milestones. Network opportunities with cross-functional teams to learn about various areas within the organization. Personalized strengths coaching. Participate in company meetings and key culture events. Value-added project management skills. Intern-led community impact project and various team-building activities outside of work. What you will do: The Indirect Spend Internship provides hands-on experience in sourcing strategy with a focus on data-driven decision-making. The intern will contribute by analyzing spend data to identify tail-spend and vendor consolidation opportunities with clients , conducting supplier market research to support RFPs and new contracts, and assisting with business case development for new category opportunities. Additional responsibilities include supporting implementation activities and applying data and analytics to improve visibility and drive value for clients. This role provides a comprehensive introduction to supplier research, category management, and strategic sourcing in non-acute and non-healthcare markets. Assist with drafting and publishing internal communications newsletters (e.g., VizFlash), spotlight features, and campaign updates.             Responsibilities Identify tail-spend opportunities and vendor consolidation opportunities for clients. Conduct supplier market research in support of RFP’s and new contract opportunities Assist with business case development for new category opportunities Implementation support Data and analytics work What you will need: Enrolled in a four-year accredited college, university, or graduate program in good academic standing. Must have completed the sophomore year as an undergraduate before the start of the internship, or have recently completed your degree. Basic understanding of working in a hybrid environment, workplace ethics, and effective communication. Good organization and planning skills, and demonstrate effective project coordination, facilitation, and implementation based on past work or school experiences. Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to analyze and synthesize information for problem-solving are preferred. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting across the team and potentially with internal Vizient business partners, external members, and suppliers.
