Job Description Summary This position is for a Staff Software Engineer in the Healthcare Digital Team in GE Healthcare, Bangalore. The staff software engineer will be responsible for design and implementation of one or more application modules, subsystems or services. Job Description Essential responsibilities Proven track record of successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation. Provides expertise in Design, Architecture, Development, Continuous Integration and Delivery. Leads impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design /architectural considerations and implementation strategy. Expert in providing oversight, mentoring team Collaborate with product manager and architect to understand requirements and detail the user stories Design of software service or application in alignment with architecture vision. Own technical design reviews Identify, plan and mitigate technology risks in a timely manner Part of the agile scrum team, participate in the software development covering full technology stack Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) A minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in software development A minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in software development in Java, micro services and database systems (Angular/Angular JS, Java/J2EE, RxJava, Javascript, Sprinboot/Apache Web framework, MS SQL or similar experience, Dockers, NodeJS, Java/J2EE) Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development framework Good Debugging and Troubleshooting Expertise Desired Characteristics Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity Good coding and debugging skills with a modern object-oriented language like Java Good designing skills and working experience in projects involving distributed systems. Analytical & Coding skills on Java, Springboot, JavaScript, HTML5, Spark, Data Structures, Messaging queues like RabbitMQ/Kafka, JUnits. Drives up quality, performance and reliability (live deployments/migrations/monitoring/alerting). Proficient working experience on Cassandra, MSSQL, Git, Jenkins, Maven, REST APIs. Understanding and implementation of security and data protection. Good to have hands-on experience on Python and shell scripting. Experience on Big Data Technology Stack- advantage.
